Obituary of Jacquelynne Mary Webb

Jacquelynne Mary Webb passed away on January 25, 2023, in Lexington, SC, at the age of 77 years. She was born July 6, 1945, in Baltimore, Maryland. She was the daughter of late Louise Mansfield and William Davis.

Jacquelynne left this earthly realm far too soon after a long battle with cancer and kidney disease. Jacquelynne was a fighter to the end and her love for her family kept her pushing through for many years. Just because she is no longer here with us, it doesn’t mean she lost her fight. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband James Edward Marshall Webb. She is survived by her daughters, Laura Poteet, Lisa Startt, and Barbara Arnold; her grandchildren, Amber Hoey, Alyssa Poteet, Audra Worthington, Ginger Connelly, Amy Deason, and Kaitlin Startt; her great-grandchildren, Caitlin Hoey, Willow Fairall, Lola Connelly, Elliot Worthington, and Jameson Connelly; and a number of stepdaughters, nieces, and close friends whom she loved so much.

Jacquelynne was a retired IT Specialist for the Social Security Administration. She loved her family and had an extraordinary compassion for animals, especially cats. She loved to travel and was a food enthusiast. She was an avid Elvis Presley fan and enjoyed collecting China teapots. She is remembered by her family and friends for her kindness, compassion, and perseverance for life.

One of Jacquelynne’s final requests was that she leave this world by the voice of Elvis and his tribute of “Peace in the Valley.” While her family and friends grieve her loss, we know that she has found that peace. There is no sadness, no sorrow, and no trouble she sees. While it comforts us that she has found peace with the Lord; she will be greatly missed by all.

There will be a celebration of life for her of which a date hasn’t yet been set. She will return home and be laid to rest at Baltimore National Cemetery with her late husband. Her family is choosing to remember her in a special way that celebrates her life and honors her spirit and will share plans at a later date. Those who wish to attend please contact the immediate family.

For those who want to honor her life and her memory, her family asks that you: Do something kind, today, tomorrow, or maybe even every day. Jacquelynne will be remembered for her kind heart and spirit. May our daily remembrance of her bring a touch of her kindness to the life of another, so that she may live on this way.

Oh well, I'm tired and so weary
But I must go alone
Till the lord comes and calls, calls me away, oh yes
Well the morning's so bright
And the lamp is alight
And the night, night is as black as the sea, oh yes

There will be peace in the valley for me, some day

There will be peace in the valley for me, oh Lord I pray

There'll be no sadness, no sorrow

No trouble, trouble I see

There will be peace in the valley for me, for me”

“Peace in the Valley”
