Obituary of Theresa Marie Williams

Theresa Marie Williams (Nana), 71 of Columbia, South Carolina passed away peacefully on February 8, 2019. Born in Aberdeen, Washington on October 3, 1947 to the late John and Phyllis Cooper.

Theresa was married to Robert Lynn Williams for over 51 years before he passed away in May of 2018.

Theresa graduated from North Mason High School in Belfair, Washington in 1966. She was a homemaker and loved to Iron, work outside, complete crossword puzzles, and take Cookie for daily rides to get ice cream.  Theresa used to talk about missing school to stay home when she was little by promising to do the ironing so she could watch Soap Operas on TV all day.  

Theresa leaves behind three children, Tammera Starnes (Bryan), Michelle Brooks (Todd), and Rodney Williams; a sister, Brenda (Bruce); and six grandchildren, Robert, Kathryn (Bryson), Savannah, Abigail, Olivia, and Josh.  She also leaves behind her dog, Cookie. 

Theresa was preceded in death by her husband Robert Williams (2018), her parents John and Phyllis Cooper, and her brother Claire Cooper.

Theresa enjoyed spending time working on ceramics and exercising at Seven Oaks Park, visiting her Church to light a candle for her late husband, and talking with her grandchildren. 

In lieu of flowers the family is asking that memorials be sent to Michelle Brooks at 100 White Falls Drive, Columbia, SC 29212 to help offset funeral cost.

Friends and family can pay their respects at the memorial service, officiated by Rev. Rodney Williams, on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at 2:00pm at Gateway Baptist Church Chapel located at 1651 Dutch Fork Road, Irmo, SC 29063
