Obituary of Richard Arial Kittrell

Richard (Ricky) Arial Kittrell (62) passed gently into God's hands on Sunday, July 31, 2022 with his family by his side, after suffering complications following an automobile accident in June.  He was predeceased by his loving wife, Debra Lee Kittrell, whom he was married to for 35 years.  Ricky was also predeceased by his parents, Redmond Evans Kittrell and Bobbie Jeans (Suggs) Kittrell. 

He is survived by his sister, Gloria K. Smith (Tommy) and brother, Pastor Steve Kittrell (Sandy) of Lexington, SC; brothers, Calvin (Angel) and Michael Kittrell of Conway, SC and sister, Linda Kittrell, of Walterboro, SC.  He also enjoyed a close and loving relationship with Debra’s grandchildren: Christian, Santanna, Jaden, Kenzie and Chase Griffin.  His beloved Labrador, Harley, is now residing in Walterboro, SC where he has quickly adapted to life with acres and acres of oak covered trees to run and play and plenty of rabbits that need to be chased.

After graduating from Spring Valley High School in 1979, Ricky began working in the metal fabricating business, ultimately starting his own company, Kittrell Services, Inc. in 1998.  He continued to operate his business until March 2019 when he sold his company and retired due to health issues related to diabetes.

Ricky loved spending time on Lake Murray fishing on his bass boat.  He also enjoyed hunting and was a member of Jamil Shriner’s (Sportsters), Columbia, SC.

The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to the doctors, nurses and other caregivers and employees at Richland Prisma Hospital who tirelessly worked to help Ricky during this very difficult time.

At Ricky’s request, there will be no funeral.
