Obituary for Bruce M Bennett 

  Bruce M. Bennett, age 81, passed away on November 23, 2019 at Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia, SC.  He was born in Madison, Wisconsin on June 7, 1938, the son of Harris and Hazel (Schlough) Bennett.  Bruce served in the United States Navy as a submarine sailor.  After his active duty was over, he married Carol Lewis on June 18, 1961. Together they started their hairdressing careers, which grew to 13 salons and two cosmetology schools.  In 1975 to diversity, they purchased the Okee Lodge Resort on Lake Wisconsin.  Bruce was an entrepreneur and avid deer hunter.  He was a curler and was a member of the Madison Curling Club.

  He is preceded in death by his wife Carol of North Port, his brother John Bennett, and his mother and father.  He is survived by his two sons, Brett and his wife Dana (Wellens), and Daniel and his wife, Rebecca (Cress) and his grandchildren Goldie, Beau, Seth, and Freya Bennett.  

 A memorial service will be held at Olbrich Gardens in Madison, Wisconsin, in the Atrium, on April 4th from 2:00 – 4:00 PM.
