Additional comments from Duke's St. James classmates:
Ducky Doyle: "I was very sad to hear about George. I spoke with him about a month ago and he seemed to be in a good place with his recovery regiment. George and I were good friends and neighbors during HS. Many a day we walked to 21st and Potter together. My condolences to his family and friends,. As someone mentioned earlier, he is done with cancer now and in a better place. Rest in Peace my friend! "
Dennis Sutsko: thinking about George, I can almost picture him back from our days at St. James, tall and lanky, friendly and sense of humor....no sure if we had any classes together, except maybe gym.... His fight is over, he's in a better place I'm sure, he rest in peace and God Bless his family
John Ryan: Good guy. Knew him well. God Bless You George.
Vince Cirilli: I'm sorry to learn of George's passing.
Jack Cassidy: He was a really nice friendly guy, full of personality. I enjoyed catching up with him at our reunions over the years. I was disappointed that he didn’t attend our last reunion. RIP George!
John "Bake" Baker: I definitely remember him as a cool-headed guy. I pray for his close friends and family. R.I.P Bulldog!
Paul Greeley: Freshmen Latin class, last period with Mr. Bell. I’m erasing the board and George Culbert’s sitting right in front. He says ‘blow me some smoke’, so I start blowing the chalk dust from the eraser at him. I got a big cloud going and don’t see Mr. Bell walk right into the dust. He turns, sees me and hits my head into the chalkboard.
John Shallet: shame to hear of George’s passing, good guy knew him since the 1st grade.
Mike McKinney: George was such a nice guy, I can't stop smiling thinking about the ordinary things we would do together that still stick in my brain.
Jim Iannucci: I didnt hang with George but as a fellow Bulldog my sympathy and prayers go out to his family.
Bob Hines: I remember George as just a calm happy person. He was always pleasant and never spoke ill of anyone. RIP GRORGE.
