Obituary of John Antony Thoman
John Antony Thoman (“Sid”) passed peacefully into eternal life on April 27, 2021. Born July 30, 1968, he was the son of Theodore A. Thoman (Cindy) and the late Kathryn L. Heinen. He is survived by his son, Dustin J. Thoman, his aunt, Ann C. Temple (Robert), his sisters, Kimberly A. Faught (Jimmy) and Vanessa L. McQuinn (Russell), four nieces and nephews, Tyler C. Faught and Kinzey E. Faught, and Alexander M. Thoman (Paige) and Annaliese L. Hawkins, and his great niece and nephew Xander Cole Thoman and Xia Rose Thoman.
John was an iron worker for most of his life and was very proud of that skill, often bragging about the numerous children who will be educated by the schools that he built. He lived his life on his own terms and was a very unique person who touched many lives. With only his smile, he could shift others’ perspectives. A friend to anyone in need, he would give you the shirt off his back if it would help. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
John was an avid music lover. He appreciated every genre of music and was working hard to learn to play the guitar prior to his passing. Memorial donations may be made to “Guitars not Guns,” https://www.guitarsnotguns.org/, an organization that teaches foster and at-risk children to play the guitar to steer them away from violence. A celebration of John’s life will be held at a later date. Details about that event will be posted to Facebook.
